2022 Dodge Challenger Features, Specs & Price
Few sounds make the hairs on your arms stand up like the throaty growl of a muscle car V8, and the 2022 Dodge Challenger will make every hair stand to attention.
The 2022 Dodge Challenger is old-school American muscle with a design dating back to 2008, so if you love big, heavy coupes for highway cruising or smoking burnouts, this is the vehicle for you.

Jailbreak Colour Option
The significant change for the Challenger for 2022 is the new Jailbreak colour options. This gives customers options on colour changes for the exterior, seats, steering wheel, floor mats, seatbelts, brake callipers, and wheels.
With the number of choices on offer, customers that cannot decide can look at some pre-loaded colour palettes for ideas. Look out for the Old School that adds a green exterior to a grey interior or Brass Funky that adds sepia highlights to the Hellraisin deep purple body.
Performance
There is a wide range of performance packages. Entry-level is the 3.6L V6 Pentastar fitted to the SXT and GT models. Next in line is the 5.7L V8 HEMI bolted into the R/T models, and then the 392 V8 HEMI (naturally aspirated) squeezed into the Scat Pack 392 models.
The heavy-weight muscle comes from the 6.2L V8 HEMI supercharged to 717hp in the SRT Hellcat and the high-output version putting out 797 hp in the SRT Hellcat Redeye and 807hp in the SRT Super Stock.
Transmissions come in the form of a six-speed Tremec manual or an eight-speed TorqueFlite automatic. The SRT Hellcat, Redeye, and Super Stock models get the upgraded TorqueFlight 8HP90 eight-speed auto box.
As can be expected with a heavy body and wide tyres, the fuel consumption figures are high, at around 14-16L/100km combined urban and freeway.
Price
Canadian pricing for the Challenger ranges from $37,165 for the entry-level SXT with a V6 to $110,765 for the muscular SRT Super Stock with its 807 horses under the hood.
Technology
The Challenger will not let you down in the navigation and infotainment department. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are both included via Dodge’s UConnect environment.
A full range of driver aids is included, such as blind-spot monitoring and Dodge’s rear-traffic alerts.
Security Upgrade for 2022
Dodge has given the Challenger a security alarm upgrade as part of the Driver Convenience Group pack for this year. It will be included as standard on the higher end of the model range but will be an option on the lower end.
The new alarm has intrusion detection if the glass is broken or the vehicle is moved with the alarm set.
An additional feature is called the Key Programming Lockdown, which prevents thieves from programming a new keyfob.
Conclusion
There may not be many upgrades for the 2022 Dodge Challenger, but it remains a treasured muscle car for the avid petrol-head. If you fancy all this hot, hard metal around you and want to test drive the 2022 Dodge Challenger in Calgary, we invite you to come in and see us.
