Notable Changes From The Previous Year
The 2024 Ram 1500 safety features are nearly unchanged. Apart from the dismissal of the diesel engine, no other noteworthy change has been made. However, the carmaker is promising massive upgrades for the 2024 lineup.

Driveability
The new Ram 1500 has many driving assistance features to help you drive confidently, regardless of road conditions. There’s a Trailer Reverse Steering Control System to assist you while reversing and also to control the trailer via a trailer knob. The Active Level Four Corner Air Suspension system ensures smooth acceleration, adjusting the truck’s height to improve its aerodynamics.
Three engines are available for this lineup: the 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 with eTorque, the 5.7-litre HEMI V8 with theTorque, and the 6.2-litre Supercharged HEMI V8, which is only standard for the flagship model. All models have eight-speed automatic transmissions.
Technology and Safety
Many of the 2024 Ram 1500 safety technology features are standard across the lineup. For instance, the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with Ready Alert Braking, rain brake support, traction control, trailer sway control, hill start assist, and electronic roll mitigation are standard.
The forward collision warning with active braking is standard for Big Horn and higher models. Rain-sensing windshield wipers and the ParkSense feature are only standard for the top 3 models.
Passive Safety Features
All models have a multi-stage airbag system with six side-mounted, supplemental, and side-curtain airbags. The Sport, Laramie, and higher models have standard rear window defrosters, and Laramie and higher models also come with a security alarm.
Four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist are standard for everyone, as are engine block heaters. Other standard features include tire pressure monitoring displays, tire fill alerts, cargo tie-down loops, and a full-size spare tire.
